Emperor Wolfus - "Let me introduce my blade Kugyo Okami, lit. Wolf Who Punishes or Punishment Wolf in one of the language of the Milky Way galaxy's Earth, specifically Japanese, of the race of the same name. My sword possesses a Japanese name for two reasons that I shall explain momentarily, but first, let me tell you how I got it~
This sword is actually thousands of years old and was passed down through generations to the greatest warrior of a now mostly extinct ancient wolf race. They've been gone for hundreds of years, but a few of their greatest treasures remain, such as this sword. Deep in the forests of Corneria resides an old wolfess who is actually the last of that ancient race, the last born and somehow managed to extend her life centuries beyond its time. I met her once when I was a teenager and she gave me the first of the ancient treasures I possess, a mask of immense power that I used when I was the (in)famous Silver-Tailed Executioner.
But that's a story for another time.
When I met this wolfess that first time, she told me to call her Granny Claire and then told me a lot about her race, their cultural customs and their extinction. At the dusk of their time, they started going out and mating with "normal" wolves who's numbers were greater but still quite small. The offspring possessed little resemblance and minimal traits of that ancient race, so in those terms, the race did technically die out, but they helped keep the wolf population at least at a respectable number.
Tangent aside
Many years later, I was living happily with my Foxy and I got a call from the old hare Peppy to check out an old abandoned underground prison as their were reports of some disturbances. Whatever, easy money, right? WRONG. SO FUCKING WRONG. I decide to solo it, because I'm awesome that way, and of all things to go wrong, turns out there was this evil spirit called a shayde haunting the prison and apparently my awesome bod is irresistible even to spirits as it decided to possess my body and claim it for its own. As I understand it, shaydes are manifestations of true misery, suffering, agony, the lot. Of course, the prison of legend where even I would shit myself being sent to is a perfect place for one of these things to be. Apparently the abandonment of the place left it enough time to gather power. No one's used that prison for decades, mostly due to treatment and rights violations. The wardens and guards there were basically all kinds of Leons.
So anyway, my ass is screwed and I could only remember chunks of everything that went on, but I know that I for some reason wound up at Granny Claire's where I busted in and stole the second wolven treasure I possess, this sword. Upon my touch, it's handle and color morphed to reflect the corruption of me, turning red and black with this weird organic-like handle.
And so I, specifically the shayde, used it to fuck everything up and end hundreds of lives while turning me, or rather, my body, into a demi god. All I really could do was watch this all go down from within myself, including my fight with my Foxy, Falco, Krystal, Leon and Panther. They threw everything they had at me but I still brought them all to the brink of death. I messed up my Fox the worst, it was the ultimate torture for me; all I could do was scream in emotional agony, heart being torn asunder as the shayde used my body to... I don't much care for remembering it.. But in the end, everything worked out. How? Heh, maybe you'll find out one day~

So anyway, after I took it back to Granny Claire, she let me keep it and when I touched it again, the color and handle morphed to what they are today; purple and black with a more traditional handle. I trained with it everyday; martial weapons like swords and whatnot aren't common in Lylat for obvious reason. Everyone uses blasters for most things and knives for the bar fights and cloak-and-dagger stuff these days. Fox thought he'd join me in my "uniqueness" and scoured the internet for swords of different Systems and settled on sabres and one-handed swords. They were perfect for his speed and relentless approach to combat. We then found out my sword heavily resembled the Japanese katana and after a lot of study of them and their use in the culture, that's where the Japanese name came from, though really, I often just refer to it as Penance.
Fox and I studied our new arts for quite a long time, a few years back, him fencing, a gentlemenly art that emphasized speed, precision and light movement, perfect for a fox, and me Kobudo, which I didn't realize how many subtext styles, so I just stuck with three, Iaido, Battojutsu and Aikido. My favorite is Battojutsu. He managed to find a teacher relatively quickly with the help of his buddy Samus while I flailed around for months until I found out Granny Claire could kick my ass, so I let her train me.
So that brings us to now, or now-ish. After those years of training, I spent a long time developing that sheath there and when I was done, I let my sword marinate in a special liquid that modified the blade to be able to channel electric currents. Now a high-frequency blade, it is reinforced with a powerful alternating current and resonates at extremely high frequencies. This oscillation weakens the molecular bonds of anything it touches, thereby increasing its cutting ability ten-fold. The sheath is synced to my cybernetic eye which allows me to control its functionality, such as how it floats behind me instead if being attached to me on a belt or have it overcharge my sword, allowing me to use cutting sword waves or have it fly around spinning wildly crashing into stuff or carrying someone atop it. My eye is also the only way to draw the sword from the sheath and is also the only way to activate the sheath's firearm mode. The sheath is relatively light, at least for me, so I wield it in gun mode with one hand as it has no recoil.
