The hidden hideout quaked as the sound of explosions from outside filled the building. Outlaws scattered as a squadron from the Cornerian Defense Force stormed the building, led by Bill Grey on a rescue mission for two persons who had taken on a sticky mission a few days prior and had gone silent. Laser fire set to stun, the CDF made quick work of the opposition. Kicking down a door and aiming inside, Bill was just in time to witness the mastermind and leader of the group manage a narrow escape. Cursing, Bill swept the room and came across the missing individuals chained to a far wall in a dark corner. One looked relatively unharmed for the most part and was a whimpering mess and the other...
Panther Caroso.
Hitting on the lights for the rest of the room, Bill gasped and nearly dropped his blaster when he got a good look at Panther. The big cat was slumped over looking unconscious while chained and collared standing up against the wall. His golden eyes slowly opened to find a horrified Bill rushing at him. Coughing suddenly, blood flying from his mouth, the feline attempted to speak.
"Bill... You came all this way for me...? I'm flattered..."
"Panther... What did they do to you..?" Bill asked, a hand slowly reaching out for the bound feline.
"They were... after you... They had expected you to be the one who would take on the mission... It was a trap... They're offing CDF commanders... so they can weaken the army one big blow at a time... They recognized me and tried to get me to talk... I wouldn't... so they tried to be persuasive in their own way... but they still didn't get shit from me... I knew someone would come.. I just had to endure it.." Bill softly placed a hand on the bloody fur of the big cat. Gashes, cuts and lashes were all over his face and naked torso, dried blood caked around most the wounds.
"Panther... Why? Why did you-"
"It was worth it, for you.. They couldn't find you... and I wouldn't tell them anything, and because of that... you're safe... So worth.... it.....--"
"I need medical teams and evac up here NOW!! Let's move it!!"
